So people who go from their climate controlled townhouse to the heated garage to their climate controlled car, drive the freeways to their climate controlled office, and sit around & tell the rest of us how we should live to keep the earth pure....

Sorry for my cynical mood this morning morning.... ;)

Cool, Algore and the tree huggers and libs need time to warm up after that colddddddddddddddd winter brrrrrrrrrrrr where was Global Warming when we needed it lol note they suddenly changed the name to "climate change" to have it both ways regardless if its hot or cold, wet or dry.

It's all about control............of someone/everyone else's life. ""I know what's best for you; listen to what I say, not what I do."" Reminds me of the tree-huggers near here; every time a piece of property is developed, they come out of the woodwork screaming about all 'our' trees being destroyed; many times, the property has been on the market for months/years; they could have bought it and "SAVED" it themselves. Unrelated, but..............there's a city of about 40,000 down the road a ways; they have an ordinance concerning when your garage door must be closed; sued a 92 year-old veteran for flying the U.S. flag in his front yard on a pole which didn't meet their approval. It'll only get worse...............

I hate to tell you this but it was a Wisconsin politician who got earth day started. Gaylord Nelson. One time Governor and also Senator. He became pretty much persona non grata except for around Moscow-Madison and moved to Maryland to be closer to his abundant buddies. No one misses him.

So let me get this correct, some of you don't care about the earth?

Take a look at www.aol.com and what is happening to the water table beneath the central states.

You know about hardpan.

You would not live on a diet of only chemicals by foregoing the bread, meat and vegetables. But consider the taste of what many people are buying, calling it meat and bread. It is all getting pretty bland. Trying to spread the taste while trying to speed growth, in my eyes, is akin to painting the entire house with one gallon of paint. It will coat everything but doesn't really do the job.

People that don't like the laws need to be the people that change the laws. But then others will not like your laws. I became involved in politics for that reason and will soon find myself voted out because the voters don't like my ideas.

I like earth day and think we need to do what we can to keep the earth a place where people can live 5-10 generations down the road.

Maybe we need to look at it in a WWJD view?

I'll bet the veteran was sued by his HOA, not the localtown. The HOA's have all kinds of rules.

***Maybe we need to look at it in a WWJD view?***

Why waste Jack Daniels? I realize it's made from 'earth' materials, but I don't get the connection.

Nope........city ordinance; they caught so much flak from the media that they backed off........given his age and his 'veteran' status.

Earth Day is a good thing. As long as people don't take it too far. Sometimes everyone needs to step back and look at the bigger picture. We rely on this ball of rock and mud.

We're feeding 7 billion people on the planet and guess what? We're up to our ears in food surpluses. We must be doing something right.

Tell me about it. That's all they're talking about on the radio this morning. Yesterday it was legalization of pot. Looks like another day of radio silence. I don't have the stomach to listen to another day of extremist not jobs.

If you need to replace any home applianes, there are federal and state rebates available on energy efficient appliances. Missouri has a sales tax holiday for energy efficient appliances this week.

It's always easier to whine about the tree huggers.

Happy Birthday Vladimir Ilyich Lenin! He'd be 140 years old today if he was alive. Given the sorry state of environmental conditions in Communist countries, it seems odd that his birthday was chosen as the day to celebrate the environment.

been farming all my life.

every day is earth day for me.

the junk you see in the media today is just plain kookie. dissapointing.
