ok, ok, so much for the all clean and shined up tractors. i'd be willing to bet everybodys got a ugly duck in the barn thats a hard worker. so heres mine. 48 m. hood is off and in the barn. (easier to work on) muffle is bent (hit a tree) has a loader off a 560 on it, and a bucket off a john deere skid loader on it. live pump, power steering. seat is an old air ride off who knows what. 6volt. (charges sometimes) spool valves came off an old corn sheller. still has the belly pump too!! pulling my 1000 gallon water tank. mounted a jet pump on it and a 4k watt generator to water my fruit trees, blueberry, blackberry, gooseberry bushes, rhubarb and horse radish thats growing along the creek. ok lets see your ugly duck!!!
oh, to keep John T happy, even mounted a chain to drag on the ground off the generator.(dunno if it helps or not)

Well, it certainly looks about as sharp "get the job done" setup as I've ever seen. One problem though that I can see, and only one that I had to strain to find, and really strain at that. That SMV marker on the back of the trailer. It appears to be placed all wrong. Oh sure, from this angle I can see it just fine. But ifin I was to be drivin up behind you, straight on now, it appears that your compressor might block it. Now what you might want to do, and only a suggestion mind you, is to get someone to hold that thing maybe dead center on your tank where it could be seen perfectly, and then you get you a hammer and box of nails, and start to nailin that marker dead center on the tank where I could then see it just fine, if I were to drive up behind you from that angle. Big nails, lots of them. Not just one or two that might come loose.

Actually, is a great lookin setup to me. But then again, you're the owner and only your opinion really matters, if you ask me, which you didn't. Use it in good health, and lots of it. Oh yeah, forget the hammer and nails.

The best machines are like the best women, not always easy on the eyes, but more than worth their weight in gold! (I've strained my back a lot more than my eyes!)

You lucky dog - never thought about fertilizing my dandelions!

PS: Your wife ever get my tax forms filled out? Might be running out of time.

Older tractors doing useful work are far better than the pavement Queens in my eyes. Decorative objects are for my wife, I prefer stuff that works for it's keep.
So if yer looking for "butt ugly" ya better post another picture!!

All of my tractors are currently in their work clothes.. but here are a couple..

HPIM0753.jpg

This is my D-17 series 4.. Been in the family since new, has a "rickety" Kelley loader and hooked to a 4-bottom snap coupler plow w/ muck bottoms

This is my 1962 930 Case diesel w/ M&W Turbo
HPIM0626.jpg

This is my 1953 Massey-Harris 33. It's in the process of being painted now, but I farmed with it for a couple years like you see it.. well.. I guess it had some really beat up tin on it then too

Most of these pictures are a couple years old, but the tractors still look pretty much the same now as then.

The Fordson E27N Major was one of the ugliest tractors ever produced. Even totally restored they are not exactly eye -candy are they?

A matter of taste I guess... I like them. And the ugly old Lanz Bulldogs.

Way back in the college days, was known to be accompanied by the Lee sisters, Ug and Home, at local taverns.

Here's a couple of our MT tractors that are uglier than my stepmother.

Maybe a sack over the grill would improve their looks.
