put radio by window or door.. window is better. use nylon screen instead of wire. or run antenna as said.

As Dave points out, the steel in the walls kills the signal. You might need a radio expensive enough to have an antenna connection. Then use a coax to twin lead dongle to connect coax to the radio. on the other end of the coax, (outside) put about 3 meters of wire for FM, and as long as you can for AM. Do not allow it to be parallel and near the building or it too will have capacitive dampening of signal. Jim

Well if you know how to open it up and do a little soldering you can add a wire for an out door antenna which will fix your problem. If you want to stay real cheap on an antenna just take a piece of flat TV wire cut it off at 5 foot and hook the wires together on the ends and cut one in the center and hook that up for an antenna. Being an Ex-navy E.T does come in handy for a few things Lol

I use one of those 12 volt tractor radios in my building.I to had nothing but static on am.I use a power supply to convert 110 to 12 volt, and put my antenna on the roof.Radio shack has the coax cable to run from the radio to antenna.I can now get am and fm signal without static.
