Just bought a golden jubille, 53, with a leather fan belt that is riveted in sections. Anybody seen one, or know how old it is. It works perfect. Thinking about taking it off and saving it.

Thanks, Dayne

I guess you just showed us how old you are..
I can remember when we sold them across the couter in the parts department. Lots of uses.
Put together right they gave decent service,of course back then tractors did not turn the rpms they do today.

Thanks JM. How long have the been discontinued? I,ve only owned 8ns for about 24 years, so I may be a little green about them.

That belting is still used today and can be purchased many places. It works well if ran in the correct direction.

Where do are you located probably will make a difference. A power train supply should have some. It is now made with some different material depending on power, speed and of course length. Just look up any belting supplier on the net and you will get tons of info.

Try an outfit called Restoration Supply out of southern California. It"s an antique car supply house. I think I saw what you"re after in their catalog. They also have a good stock of obsolete types of gear and engine oil. That"s where I get my 10 weight motor oil that is called for in my DeSoto"s Tip-Toe-Shift semi automatic transmission. Seemed to be a friendly, honest family run outfit. They have a website, but only take orders by phone and mail.

Hope this helps...
Josh
