Mounting a hinker cab

I got a hiniker cab for my IH 656. Anybody have experience mounting one of these. Any tips would be great. How did you lift them etc.... I have a skidloader but I don"t think it will lift if hi enough. I could get a loader. any help would be great.

Do you live on a farm with a barn with a hay carrier (with a really good rope!)? Two loader tractors would work- there are lifting hooks on each side of the cab. Remove the doors and windows- less chance of breakage and it lightens the load.

Have you got a narrow ditch that you can back the tractor in? You will have to adjust the angle of dangle so cab doesn't hit hood first and cause problems. You could also build a jib for the skidsteer, but; SAFETY is an issue

MY son took ours apart,Took out the glass and re-assembled it a piece at a time.Workd out good for us.The tractor now stgands 11'4" in height. You will enjoy the cab. Luck to you. LOU

Like ACG said- no- there is a big empty area in the middle, under the windshield- that fits over the cowl area of the tractor, and is filled in later with filler panels for each particular tractor that you have mounts for. Mine was a Model 1300, on a 4020- mounting brackets and filler panels fit whatever model you are mounting it on. Bought it in Spring "74, very nice on the cold, blustery, snowy, rainy days in spring or fall. Nice to plow in Nov in shirtsleeves, with snow coming down.

We put a Hiniker 1300 on a Ford 9000 about 15 years ago. I had the cab on a 2 wheel trailer. I temporarily reinforced the bottom cord of 2 roof trusses in my pole barn with horizontal members and 4 temp legs from the truss bottoms to the barn floor. We used 2 come-along hand winches, one on each side pulling on the lifting hooks. (Don't use cheap HF or similar crappy come-alongs). We backed the trailer into the support area and lifted the cab from the trailer. The top of the cab had to go almost up to the bottom of the truss. Then we pulled the trailer out and drove the tractor in place beneath the cab and started lowering it, one click at a time. That is one darn heavy cab, so stay out from under it as much as possible! We had to take the factory fenders and steps off the tractor, but the steering wheel and all controls stayed in place. It was a considerable improvement to that tractor.
