Cat 242 Skid Loader

I had been looking at getting a 70xt or 1845C Case, but have stumbled upon some good deals on 242 Caterpillar skid loaders. What has everyone's experience been with them? Are parts really expensive? Any major issues? They seem to be really stout.

We have a Cat 246 awsome machine. b series wasn't liked much but c series is good. ours is a 01 with about 1300 hrs on it. It's used primarily for dirt, snow and big square bales. It has every option including 2 speed only thing missing is a/c should have got a/c because cab is a mess after baling.

Only parts we bought recently were a new throttle pedal and filters. Cost is comparible to Deere. Next one will be cat too.

246 is the largest motor in the medium frame so it's hp to weight ratio is high. I think it's 80hp.

As far as I'm concerned, cat is junk junk junk. over-complicated over-priced junk. Have had many cases never been happier.
