OT - House Fire

Past few days have been a little shaken up here. Good friends of mine have had the house they were renting go up in flames. One of the guys was sleeping on the couch downstairs and had his eye brows and hair singed... All four got out with their lives but it has still taken a toll on everyone. They lost everything...

Here is a pic of before... not the best but it gives an idea... and no, this was not the night before... this was a few years before.

And this pic brought a tear to my eye... The sister of a guy just moved in with them... this is her coat... she wanted the pic...

I"ve went through two house fires when I was a kid. Once was somewhere around first grade when it was a grease fire in the kitchen and the second was when I was in nineth grade. We didn"t loose much of anything in the first fire as it was pretty localized in the kitchen. The second one was a different story. It origionated somewhere upstairs but three investigators could never determine the point of origin. The main thing was it took my bedroom and everything in our attic. I lost pretty much everything I had ever owned from my GI Joe collection, my Hotwheels collection, my arrowhead collection, my national Geographic collection back into the twenties......In other words I know what it"s like to loose everything physical that means something to you. On the positive side though I always knew that no matter how bad I thought things were I was just glad that me and my family were all alive when it was over with....

I am sorry for the loss. For those of us that have never been touched by fire it is hard to imagine exactly what all is lost. Just saying everything is difficult to comprehend.

Have you noticed that to the right of the jacket and just to the right of the tree is a plume of steam that appears to have a cross in it?

Gods message that everything will be all right?
