Call it whatever you like, but that is not a Gila monster but is a salamander of some sort. Maybe a Hike. To see what a Gila monster looks like you can go to the Google search site and select images and then type in Gila monster to get photos of them.

Or: come to my neighborhood around Wickenburg Az. and maybe you can see the real thing in the wild:: if you are lucky. they are very elusive and secretive until you get near,then they make them selves known. They have a very distinctive smell and make a warning noise that says,Stay away!

Where are you? Here in central Mn. we see those in the fall just before freeze up. I don't think I ever saw one any other time.

I'm not so certain about monster as Munster. I'm thinkin that Spot got out one night and did him some alley cattin' around, and now Junior's out lookin' for Daddy Spot.
