Here's a garden being plowed with a Polaris ATV.
The plow is an AC 14-inch plow. Hal

That is hilarious, never thought one of those would pull a bottom/moldboard plow, and or match up with one to get decent results. Even today, kids must have still enjoyed the ride, more so if they could drive.

I would think one would have to be careful using one of those for this purpose, figuring they probably get hot, creating drivetrain issues doing too much drawbar work.

Spring tillage I suppose could be a chore after awhile for large operators, but the guy I help on the side, sure enjoyed plowing with the 5 bottom. I always joke how I'm such a big operator with my single bottom, and 7 foot disc, still say it's the best time of year though !

Hope you had the kids pick up some fish worms so you can go fishin today, after planting in the garden.Your pic. brought to mind a little story that happend around here years ago. We used to have a farmer around here who was always in the market for a new tractor every spring. He would go to the dealers and ask for demonstrations. Got all his plowing done and didn't buy. Word got out among the local tractor dealers. They got smart, so his next move was to the local Ford truck dealer. He was seen pilling a disc harrow with a new Ford truck. Nice way to include the kids into family activities. PS don't forget their safety.

thats not hard on them, that particular atv has 800cc engine in it im sure, there were a few 500cc ones built but most were 800

That does it. I"m gonna have to find my 25-30 year old pictures of one of my friends pulling a 4 bottom with his Jeep pickup. Dirt was flying in the air off the tires. Mark

I remember as a kid when we went to the movies you could see American GI's in Europe pulling plows with the M38 Willy's Jeep. The owner of this ATV says he has a Jeep. Hal

The Army used a lot of those M37 Dodges and we ran one of them against the M561 Gama Goat back in 1964 doing mobility tests in different soils and the Dodge out performed the Goat. Took a while to figger out why that vehicle was high in priority to get testing completed. LadyBird Johnson held the controlling stock in the company. Dodge used the same chassis for the Army's ambulances too back the 1950's. They should've used the 318cid engine and kept building the M37's. I have a picture of the ambulance somewhere. Hal

In the 50's my Dad had a 49 jeep pickup and we pulled an IHC 8ft tandem disc before we had two tractors. Went right along at about 4 1/2 or 5 mph. Not good for turning though.
