Bent exhaust stack

I need some ideas how to straighten out the pipe where it comes out of the muffler. The previous owner hit it going into a barn and caused it to bend back so it creased the top of the muffler body. I can't pull it off easy because it bolts to the manifold(it's A kubota) and I don't feel like paying 300.00 for a new one. I could live with it if it wasn't for the exhaust coming back in my face, and an extension would look bizzare at that angle. I'm open to all suggestions.

The 4 bolts on my 92 B-7100 looked liked they would never move. I wire brushed them and heated them red with a torch. They came right off and I reused them. Otherwise, how about getting the top of the muffler red hot then pull straight?

This is one of the older m series with a alo loader on it so to get a torch in I'd have to pull the loader frame. Already heated the top and no luck.

I'd take it off the tractor and attempt to bend it back. You'll have to heat it up with an OX/ACC torch. You'll never get it perfect but bend it enough so the exhaust doesn't blow in your face - be careful not to crush the pipe. The goal is to maintain the diameter and eliminate the bend.

I wouldn't back it into a tree to bend back as you might crack the manifold. I also would avoid doing it on the tractor – older mufflers have muffler crap (rust, carbon, etc) in them that you don’t want falling into the engine. The torch is also an issue as you don’t want to heat up something that doesn’t like heat like paint.

easy solution:
Cut it off just below the bend, take the cutoff part to a good muffler shop and have them make a piece of SS pipe with an expanded section to fit over the remaining stub. Use a wooden block and hammer to install it. If it was a pretty tight fit, it would just stay with the interference. If looser, it could easily be either clamped in place, or 3 short sheet metal screws could keep it on.
It might even be decorative. Jim

Steve, I had one that got bent by the other owner, It bent below the muffler just above the hood, bent back about 3 inches. I put a chain on the top of the muffler and to the loader bucket, rolled the bucket forward and it came straight up, and didn't use any heat on it. HTH..Jim in N M

Take a tree branch and wittle it down to a good fit when you slip it in. Four foot aught to do it. Grab hold of that sucker and straighten your muffler.

Muffler I put on my Ford 640 cost 9 bucks many years ago.Dont you get the feeling you are being robbed when you need import tractor parts.
