Local paper, weekly, comes out Thursdays, Has a photo of local school property, under construction. Full story of how an outdoor Olympic swimming pool is being installed there, will be completed by next year's April 1st.
Will surely get people all riled up! But it's an April Fools Joke! Your paper do stories like that?
There was a Pennsylvania Dairy paper that came up with some REAL good ones! Only if the issue came out on April 1st.
 
I never did anything for April Fool's day, but once 'way back when, when I was managing a newspaper, I did some creative photography one Halloween and made a picture of a witch on a broomstick flying past the Courthouse dome.

I ran it on the front page. People would ask me how I got that picture. I'd tell them, "Well, there was this witch flying past the Courthouse and I ran out into the street and took her picture".
 
A couple years ago they had a story that the outdoor classic NHL game was going to played on the River and a big grandstand was going to made on the river bank. Last year though they had a very convincing story that bylaw officers were going to take DNA tests of dog poop that wasn't picked up so they could fine the owner of the dog. It was just a small article a few pages in so it didn't seem obvious. It was going to be a requirement to give a stool sample when you got your dog license renewed and if you already had your license, you had to bring in a sample. Lots of people believed that one. It is a problem for sure. Dave
 
Careful!!! This is how all gov. agencies get their boneheaded ideas! Ours turned into a 3 million dollar PIAA approved sports complex and doubled the school taxes to cover it.
