combining beans

What would the reason be for combining soy beans over the last couple of days? For the insurance? Would they actually have any value after standing in the field all winter long? This was seen around Galesburg, Il.

Hows the economy in that town? I went down there when they anounced they were closing the Maytag plant top recruit people for the St Cloud MN freezer plant. Always wondered how things went after the plant closed.

Lots of people are struggling. Some have gotten jobs in the Quad-cities which is approx 45 miles NW. Others have went to Peoria, which is approx 35 miles SE. One person I know drives to the Quad-cities 6-7 days a week. The gas bill is around $300.00 per month in a car that gets 30mpg.

Was about $9 a bu, I'd go get them too. It's your crop, you don't leave it be if you can get it. The beans will be bleached out & crack easily, but that are still worth something as soybeans.
