After almost a week of sun and 2 days of 80 degree weather in central Illinois, I"m leaving the office to see what I need to do before "spring" arives. Work will prolly be here again tomorrow!
Guess I"ll check about pulling some of the rock back that I pushed/dumped before changing over to the rear mount mower - hope wife and daughter have gotten the rake out for thier part.

Hope you guys and girls have a Happy Easter

Jim

I spent the morning putting skinned off sod back in place on the lawn and cleaning a ton of rock and gravel off the grass and spreading it back on the yard. Then I spent a half hour trying to unfold a planter I just bought. Finally figured out a latch was stiff and not releasing fully. Now it'll be 'fun' installing the PTO hyd pump to run the vac meters (1086 hydraulics are too wimpy), then install the satellite receiver for the monitor. After that it's ????

Anybody want to come help pick up rocks tomorrow if it doesn't rain? Marilyn cooks a good dinner. Jim

The lawn in front of my office was looking like a hayfield, as we have had rain for about 2 weeks. It finally got dry enough about 2 this afternoon, but more rain on the way- so changed into farmer clothes that I keep at the office, and mowed for about half an hour. Clients came, nodded to me (mowing) as they went into the office, then looked puzzled when I came out of the back room a few minutes later in "coat and tie"- "Wait a minute- didn't we just see you in overalls mowing the lawn?"

Best thing I've found to pull fine rock and gravel off of a lawn is a shop vac with a 2" hose. No attachment, just the open hose.

Time consuming, but it cleaned ours up to my wife's exacting specifications after I'd pushed some fine rock onto a couple of places while plowing snow last winter.

glad you took advantage of the rock pile. I took the day off and took the bike for a ride. Ended up putting 226 miles on it. I guess i missed the warm weather!

"Might/might not" mention that to the wife and daughter - ssems like everytime they use the Shopvac, it's time for repair or a new one!

Kinda told them to pick crushed stone and throw back into the drive for cash as they are off for Good Friday and they want a new trailer - see if it works!
