We probably need a picture or more description. Also try on the Crawlers loaders Dozers and Backhoes forum (go to discussion Forums to the left)

Unfortunately, the market for old crawlers is not as good as it is for rubber-tired tractors, since they're difficult to move, can't be driven on the road and aren't as versatile. Also, the value of a crawler depends a lot on the condition of its undercarriage, which is something that can only be evaluated by inspection by someone who knows what they're looking at. You're best bet is to find someone local you trust who knows something about crawlers to look it over carefully to determine its condition. Although I'm sure your father carefully restored the tractor, he may have not replaced all the undercarriage components (track, rollers, idlers) if they were in fair condition.

Margueritte, you might want to consider donating your father's tractor to a museum. As I recall, the Ten is fairly small tractor, which would make it desirable for most museums with limited space. Hopefully the Cat would be stored indoors, and preserved so others can enjoy your dad's work.
