OT LP gas conversion

I converted a 10000 watt Hobart welder to run on Natural Gas or propane a few years ago. I have it mounted on a trailer and run it on natural gas as a generator and switch it to LP with a small tank to weld. I have to adjust the regulator a little but it always ran fine. I started to do some welding yesterday and it would not run properly. I moved back and connected the Natural gas and it ran fine. I changed tanks and it still would only run at an idle. I turned it off and on several times and it finally got up to operating speed. I changed tanks again today and kept messing with it and finally got it to run properly, turned it off. I started it again awhile ago and it would only idle. I expect the problem is some of the safety crap that the gov. requires in those little tanks. Anybody got any ideas?

Its them POS tank valves. I fill my tanks so Iv got the old valves in them. 100# tank doesnt require OPD valve or get a 25-50 gal motor fuel tank.

If you are using the 5 gallon tanks the OPD valve will not let enough fuel out to run a motor. You may have gotten by with it in the past when the tank was full and in warmer weather. Get a tractor LP tank to mount on the side. They are easier to fill and last a lot longer.

Get a 33# tow moter tank, but make sure you get one with the vapor valve in it( most have a liquid valve)
