hi everyone. i just traded around and got me a case 530 with torque converter. it runs great and looks really good aswell. at first i thought thats how the transmission work slow picking up and alittle lack luster. had it about 2 weeks now and its looking like theres a weakness going on. i heard somewhere that it might just be a stuck valve i hope. or the converter is going. anything to help if not i"ll have to sell aint enough money to spare for big fixs. planting season close and i need every penny i got. thanks

Have you ever used a COM tractor before? They take a little getting us to. Because they drive through a converter with a direct drive lockup they seem to "lack luster" as you put it. When you pull the direct drive lever on the dash down does the tractor give a small lurch and can you now stall the tractor under load? If so you may just have to learn the charateristics of the tractor. Since you don't know the history of the tractor I would drain the trans fluids and filters, and refill with TYPE A transmission fluid. Many "universal Trans. fluids" are thicker and cause the tractor to be slugish. Good luck with it. They were nice little tractors.

The last 530 ck I got would hardly pull itself. The lockup clutch did nothing. Split tractor and found--the four little bolts on the front of the converter broke. Plus the main clutch was burned up. Fixed those two problems and was good to go. BTW those four little bolts drove the converter lockup clutch. Good Luck with your new tractor. Everett

thanks for the help will try what i can. i never had a cas-o-matic before but they are a good tractor i"m sure. i personally love this one. i"ve had several folks run it and say to sell it because it"s troubled old piece. i"m going to try and fix it myself it would be very handy. thanks
