welding helment

I havean old Harbor Freight self darkening welding helment,that wont darken,Is it repairable?I don't weld much anymore,but when I do I need a self darking helment.

You might want to check & see if it has a battery or if it's solar powered. Mine is powered by 2 aaa batteries, but it's an old one. Others I've seen are solar powered. The batteries are in the top of the lens unit. Don't know if this helps or not not knowing what brand of hood you have. Just my thoughts, Keith

Mine has batteries solar power ones need to be set out in the sun or mabee a good light.

Hi
My helment stopped working, battery powered
fussed around with it and finally discovered
one of the battery connections ( down inside
and not easily visable) was corroded. Cleaned it
and was back in business. Always take the batteries out when not in use so go figure?

Several Websites have replacement Lenses for ~60.00
