MW Hand Clutch for Farmall H Install pointers

Installing a M&W Hand Clutch next weekend on my 48 Farmall H and wanted to see if anyone had any pointers before I tear into it. I've never tore that far into the rear of any of my Farmalls but I guess its time to figure it out. Anything I can do to save time or anything to be careful of when taking it apart?? I've got the M&W manual and the tractor manuals.
Also what color was the M&W clutch housing painted when it was new?? In the manual it looks white but the housing has rusty red on it right now.
Thanks
Ryan

You will have to either remove the cover from the tranny or remove the PTO and go in through the PTO hole. The left axle MUST be pulled out of the bull gear and the gear pulled back out of the way of the pinion gear and it's housing. Only then can you remove the pinion gear & housing, replace the solid pinion gear with the hollow M&W pinion gear and then reinstall. Probably be a good idea to replace the oil seal in the pinion gear housing while you have it apart. The rest is fairly straight forward, you have the manuals so you should do fine. I deal in M&W clutches and parts and if you have any problems or questions, I can probably help you with them. You can email me direct at: [email protected]

I am pretty sure the clutch was painted the same color as the tractor, the raised lettering was painted white.
