I considering buying a l997 New holland tracytor model 1720. It has 497 hours on it and been garaged. I know nothing about this tractor what are the pro and conds I should know about? The seller is asking $10,900. It has a bucket in the front and a back blade.

Go to ebay and type in the model and see what the asking price is. It seems high to me too.

My neighbor had one for a few weeks, a friend loaned it to him. He let me scoop some gravel with it. That tractor has the 1.33 liter engine in it and weighs about 2500 lbs. (very versatile machine) But........my neighbor has trouble starting it sometimes, this was in the summer too.

A neighbor lady also has one that she would/wants to sell. I found a local buyer for her. My sources tell me it should sell for around $7,500 to $8,000 or so. But the local NH dealer tells her it is worth $10K for low but realistically around $12K. This includes three 3-point implements. Think she'll have it for awhile. She's the type that sells high and buys low, always complaining that as a widow she never has any money. But she's not looking for a job. Go figure!

I think that may be the model that if gear drive has no live pto. Local NH dealer had one a year or so ago and wanted $8,900 for it with a loader.
