Unstyled John Deere Aftermarket Cab

Anybody ever see a aftermarket cab for a unstyled John Deere? Any desire for something like this?

I guess it was one step better than the horse hair coat.

I have the orginal receipt. It was bought new in 1948 for $200

Didn't know an aftermarket cab was made in those days. That was in the day when REAL men didn't need a cab. It was for sissies only, and I only say it half sarcastically.

Dad had a homemade cab that looked a lot like this one on his 51 A, in 1954 and the neighbors made fun of it. He had a "house on his tractor, Ha Ha". But when dad was pulling the pull type picker or fall plowing with snow in the air, he wasn't shivering like the neighbors were, they just tried not to show it. Jim

my fatherinlaw had the same cab on an LA Case. it has aluminum skin, and is still out on the 'bonepile' have seen other examples in the drylands of western Kansas and eastern Colorado

I just checked and Automatic, of Pender Ne. is still in business, making ag products. 60 years is doing good these days. Them early cabs were noisy, but out of the wind was a good thing.
