some of the 'lower' end craftsman tools are made in china, however they are still have a life time warranty on them. The 'high' end line are still made here. Just bought a 'pro' ratchet the other day, u.s.a on them. Still the best tools for the money in my opinion.

May want to recheck that, the lower end tools do not have a lifetime warranty. I found this out when I tried to get a broken ratchet replaced.

someone ripped you because all craftsman hand tools have the lifetime guarantee because I never buy the pro series and always got replaced no ?"s does make a difference on store and salesperson as they dont all know what they are doing.

Yes the older ones do but replacements only have a (limited lifetime warranty) so don't trade yer old stuff , I'm lucky at my age I don't need the high priced ones -- LOL, and I ain't leavin them fer my grand kids to loose in the yard

Thats right all 'craftsman' tools do now sears is selling some lower homeowner/occasional use line that i do not thing have the warranty with them, but all craftsman do. Perhaps that is the kind you had. I returned a 9/16" wrench that was a made in china job and like the other fellow said no questions asked like any other craftsman tool.
