Have a good friend that called tonight and said he was at an auction sat. There was a 9920 John Deer coton picker that started ran and looked good. No one would bid so he bought it for me for the sum of $ 1,000.00 No big deal excep I have never hauled a cotton picker. I have to go 90 mi to get this thing. Does any one know the higth or know of a site that has specs like the construction site does. Not worried about the width we are annual permited there just need to know how high this thing might be.. Thanks Jerry

JM, it's been awhile, but 13'6" comes to my mind, are you going to pull it home, if so I can give you some useful tips

I'd say that's about right; our shop has a 14 ft ceiling and earlier 2-row pickers would BARELY fit in there.

Thanks to both of you ..looks like i may have to dismantel it there or pull it. Have one trailer that is 18 in floor hight when loaded so that is about 15 if not leagal and kind of iffy..Might load it and drop air in tires then see where I am..Thanks again Jerry, I have flown hilicopter and piloted river tug but can,t say i have EVER sat in the cab of a cotton picker. I understand this is a hydrostatic machine.

Usta see 'em hauled on trailers similar to yours by taking the basket lid off and turning it upside down; not sure how much 'shorter' that would make it........probably 18-24 inches. Local dealer could probably advise you and might have the equipment to do it.

IF you have a single wheel tow dolly, take the final drive coupling off, remove roll pin and slide coupling over. Air drive tires up kindof tight, take the SMV emblem off the back, put in on front (headers) Take off home! The furtherest I have pulled one is 125 miles at about 20-25 MPH
Don't get on interstate by no means!there are a lot of small, 1000-1500 acre farmers that still use this machine
Just to give you a guesstament, you have about $2500.00 in bars alone, final drives-$500-1000, hydrostat considering it's good $1500, engine, tires, cylinders, blower fan, gear boxes etc,etc
You got a great deal
if I can help any further E-M me, where are you located
good luck Lucky
