orchard/hobby farm. some tilling, mowing, and snow removal. light loader work

see http://fargo.craigslist.org/grd/1632461099.html

is TA likely to be a problem? other issues with this model? thx in advance for any help

have one Like it but before I bought it they reworked shift mech to tune of 650 bucks and it is locked up in 1&reverse now have had so much snow couldn,t take time to repair as is just in linkage I think. org front ends are lighter than later ones. broke axles off because of round bales . ta are good I think. about right on fuel consumption for work done. Is real handy to drive Ilike mine better than boys 706 but both good .

A 656 is a super nice tractor for a small farm. A gasser will cost more to run than a diesel. I'd say the one in the ad is priced high for a gas model and it looks to me like no PTO and the 3 point is add-on. I'd keep looking. As far as the TA they are bullet proof if you know how to use them. Shift quicly and firmly and never let it free-wheel downhill.

Lack of PTO should rule it out immediately- can't mow or till without a PTO. Couldn't plow with it, either, because add-on 3 point won't sense draft. Bucket is really too big for utility work on that one. Keep looking.
