It's the time of year for critters..

Funny thing happened, well sort of. So the water off the field next to the house starts flowing through my backyard this time of year out to the one on the other side. Time for the sump pump to kick in. Last spring I bought a new quiet model and it actually is quiet. Went out to check the discharge hose and nothing coming out. Checked the pump hole and found the water hot enough to make coffee with. Turned the system off and started digging out the hose.Hose was clear. Pulled pump out, pump still pumps. End result? At the elbow in the basement wall a Chipmunk was well, stuck. Water now drains so this morning I'm making a cover for the drain end and getting loud pump so I can hear if the thing isn't shutting off. Only really bad thing is my wife has been feeding this chipmonk for a couple of years..

Talk about critters, Here in SE AZ the rattle snakes are already coming out. Time to put a couple of rounds of shot into the 357.
