IH 656 wiring question

I'm trying to get the lights to work on my IH 656. I pulled the dash and I found that there was a 4 pronged plug that was not plugged into anything. I looked and couldn't find where it plugged in. It it connected to the light switch. Is it possible it should not connected to anything, maybe for a similar tractor? I have attached a picture. As you look at the picture the plug on the left is the one I'm talking about. The one on the right is the six way that appears to plug into the main harness comming from the battery. Any help would be great.

could be a common harness for various tractors, my Ford car has numerous going nowhere.Did you connect a light to it to see what operates when you use the light switch.?

It should be in the operators manual. If not there, it is in the IH service manual. You do have them don't you?
