OT inline fuel pump

A good buddy of mine has an old VW fox which has
two fuel pumps, one intank and a pressure pump in-
line. The inline one failed and cost over $200, he
only paid $100 for he old car. It ran good till
the pump failed but he doesn"t want to spend that
much on a $100 car. Does someone make an inline
pump that will produce the pressure for fuel
injection? It seems like should be a simple item
to find but we have had no luck.

Thanks for all your help

85 to 88 (and maybe later) ford ranger has the pressure pump mounted on the left frame.they also have a pump in the tank

i find some deals on ebay for my own vehicles/equiptment...some take awhile to find at the price i want to pay.
if he's in a hurry...$300 total for a good runnin car is cheap by todays standards...does he squeak when he walks???

can he replace it for 200.00?is it still agood car?is he going to keep it or sell it?forget the "i only piad $100 for it"crap and think about the true worth(not monetary)of the car.Fix it and driveit for 10 more years

all late 90s GM trucks had frame rail mounted electric fuel pumps- junk yards should be full of em.
Common Ford motor home issue was "in tank " fuel pump failure- pain in the arse with big tanks. Mounted that external GM pump and pulled thru dead in tanker- problem solved.
Also- look at "Facet" brand external pumps on jegs, etc- cheap at about $60 and dead reliable.

Here's one of those Facet pumps, cost is $55.00.

Bite the bullet and get the correct pump. There might be a safty feature your overlooking. Everytime I fill up I'm investing more than the car's worth.

HUH???????

Some of them pumps make a lot of racket. Better mount it on rubber, real thick. I had two that the loudest noise on the car was the pump.
