wd hydraulics

What type of oil for hydraulics & how much does it hold. tractor data says 5 gal for WD & 1.5 for WD45. Also says SAE 20. Thanks

Any more I use UFT in almost all my tractors. Makes it simple to have the stuff on hand so when you need some hyd fluid you stand a good chance of having it

Another example of useless tractordata info. WD and WD45 hold the same amount of oil in all cavities. For hydraulic oil, the operator manual shows SAE 20W above 45 deg, and SAE 10W below that temp. Unfortunately, it does not list the capacity of the hyd oil sump, but I"m sure buying a 2 1/2 gallon jug will take care of it, with some to spare.

Back when these tractors came out most farmers had bulk 20w oil and used it in every thing. As tech. evolved we find hydrolic oil works better longer. Besides its hard to find straight 20w 20 any more with out detergent in it.
