My Case 1845 skidsteer has an ether assist that
looks like a small propane tank. Having trouble
finding one. It is threaded on one end. NAPA
told me they could get one for $50.00. Case
dealer said they are N/A. Anyone know where I
can get one reasonably priced?

The big ether canisters are often used in big trucks and earth moving equipment. So you might try Catco or one of the big truck stops. Then you could try any of the Caterpillar franchises. Logging equipment also uses that big style ether cylinder. Some of the AGCO equipment was factory fitted with the same.

Good Luck,

take the old cannister with you when you get a replacement. there are at least 2 styles of fittings on the end of the assist start cannisters. i got the wrong one for our 1845 first time.

Cas,
A friend of mine has a Case 1835b skid steer with an ether assist. The neck on the ether bottle is 7/8". We can find bottles with a 1" neck but none with the old style 7/8" neck.

Don't know which size you need for your 1845 but if it's 7/8" I think you're out of luck.
