What grasses or legumes for grass fed cattle in ky?

What grasses or legumes would yall put out for grass fed and finished cattle in ky?? Im by the river outside of louisville. Thanks

mix of orchard grass and fescue, once you have the weeds under control pretty good then drill in some red clover

It"s too bad you don"t have grasses like Bluestem & Brome there.

Reid, I am no expert on this by any means but I have heard several real smart folks say and read in several publications that if you are going to try to "finish" on KY grass you need to do it in the spring on wheat, ryegrass, or some other cool season annual or durring the summer with waist high corn, brown midrib, pearl millet, sudan hybrid, or some other high sugar warm season.

I'd start on a small grain, wheat/rye/tritcale then into a grazing type alfalfa. Finish up in the late fall with stockpiled fescue/clover.
