Hey glennster

Some your post about the Hoyt Clagwell (Foghorn Leghorn) tractor down below.

Can't believe the Howell's haven't jumped on it yet - what are they waiting on - newer tires or delivery?

Hope it wasn't because you posted billonthefarm about the meetings and didn't invite them!

dunno, i figgured nancy would like the pink 3020, but that hoyt clagwell is one mighty sharp machine!!! i think we should pick up billonthe farm and road trip on down to the Howells to deliver the clagwell. maybe bill has a cow he doesnt want (scrawny one, maybe three legged) and we can pass it along to James!!! i'll toss my fuzzy lodge hat in the truck and we can have a secret meetin at the howells too!!!!

Kruser & Glennster: If we could find a combination flatbed/livestock trailer and a load back to pay for the fuel I will get the Peterbilt ready! Armand

Saw the JD D photo and read the "linked" post.

Talked to Nancy after lunch and reminded her to answer [b:654c4848f0]glennster's[/b:654c4848f0] post.

About a year ago we drove somewhere near Denton, TX and looked at a JD 37D, but it was in much better shape than [b:654c4848f0]glennster's[/b:654c4848f0] barn find.

Got the 37D going with a pullstart and it ran really good.

Drove it around the fellows pasture checking out the gears, steering, unusual noices, etc.

Old tractor ran out of gas and could not get it started again.

Said his buddy knew exactly how to get it started; trouble was his buddy could not be located.

Needless to say we didn't bring it home.

We're getting real "selective" on what we bring home; running out of tractor storage.

Minimum requirements are that I can get the tractor started and it loads on the equipment trailer under it's own power.

On the bright side, the insurance adjuster called me last week to discuss the damaged tractor shed.

Turns out that since we have a "hobby farm" all the out buildings are covered with our policy.

Nancy and I took a day off last Friday and met with the insurance adjuster.

He took a few photos, measured the length and width of the shed, and promised us a check by this Friday.

Meanwhile we're building a new equipment shed back in the woods; figured in a couple of extra stalls for future tractor aquisitions.

Will post a few photos at a later date.

Once it is completed, we will move tractors that "were running when they were parked" under the new shed.

The other tractors will be moved once we start dismantling the collapsed tractor shed.

Y'all are always welcome to come visit any time; just give us notice so we can alert the local law enforcement about our Illinois guests.

There are still laws on the books in Texas for hanging suspected cattle rustlers and horse theives; can't be too careful!

We're taking vacation on the farm starting March 15th through March 19th.

Since March 19th will be our 22nd wedding anniversary, y'all can gift wrap the horses and cow for Nancy.

Sorry for the long post; hope y'all didn't get a headache reading so much.

You're not goin to believe this one!

Got back around 5:30 PM last night and decided to drop the trailer at work vs unhook in soft snow. Threw chains, binders and everything that might get borrowed into the back of the truck.

Wifee went to get more "green manure" today and everything, but the IH weights, are pushed up towards the cab.

What do you do with them: wife, not chains and binders?

Inquiry minds would like to know.

wow James, great news about the new tool shed!!!! looks like armand is gonna bring his semi down for the secret mens club meetins at the texas club house!! if you have a big enough first aid kit, i'll load up a bunch of my carpentry tools, nail guns ect, and give ya a hand puttin up the tool shed. my associates say i kinda sound like a beef sammich hitting the ground when i fall off a roof.....but thats another story!!!

Armand,
Don't know if we'll need the big Pete!
Might just take the flatbed and horse trailer to air them out a bit.
Prolly wouldn't hurt the glennster either!

Need to discuss this as SPRING gets closer.

Jim

Would love to have ya'll come to the Texas Club. Between the group of us, we'll get that shed up in no time.

I'll fix ya'll a pot roast with red taters, home cooked green beans, fresh brewed honey sweet tea and Blue Bell ice cream in whatever flavor you want. Just let me know when ya'll are coming.

I'll bet Wrigley will have a great time chasing the armadillos.
