Hi. I have a massey ferguson 65 diesel with a 100 massey ferguson loader.I want to mount a pump on the front of the tractor to run the loader. It is hooked to the tractor hyd that works the 3 point hitch and is too slow. I have the mounting hardwear but I don't know how big the pump should be. If anyone knows how many gallons per minute the pump should be please let me know. Reg

It depends how fast you want it to go. More GPM=more speed. I think the industrial MF tractors that had that loader would have used a 17 GPM pump, but I could be mistaken.

Depends on what you plan to do with it I guess, but if your lift cylinders are around 3" in Dia. a pump with 11 gpm would do you fine for general around the house use. If you plan to do allot of loading manure or dirt you will want a bit more to decrease cycle time. I have a 13 gpm on my 300 International and it serves me well. Some industrial units have capacities in the 30 gpm but the loader valves cannot take kind of flow so most of it is bypassed. If the pump is too large for your use you will find that your oil is being by passed, of course if you have an open center system on your loader it will not matter much. The reason some Ind. have high flow pumps is for hyd motors on mowers and other items. My old neighbor had a 7gpm on his and felt it was good enough, but a bit too slow for me.

17 gpm is what a lot of the industrials used. I think anywhere in the 12 to 17 gpm range would be OK. The 3 pt. pump is only about 4 or 5 at a fast rpm. Dave

Psi on all of them will be the same at around 2500psi. Now as for GPM the ones I have on a couple of my tractors are in the 8-10 gpm range and the are plenty fast for every thing I o. Remember the more GPM the faster the loader will move and you can get to a point that thing move to fast to be safe and one to lifts real fast can cause a tractor to be laid over on its side. Me I would not go more then 15gpm tops for safety reasons. And like I said my 8-10 work plenty fast other then in the dead of winter and till warm ya slow but that is ok I'm getting slow also
