4wd tractor recommendations

Here's a tractor related post.

If someone was in the market for a used 4wd tractor with 50 PTO Hp and a loader, what would you recommend? The budget would be $15k max price.

Thanks for the suggestions.

You may be able to find an older Case IH in that price range but not much else. I do not know of any 50 series JD that would fall into that price range unless it was a complete piece of junk.

Maybe some else here would have some more ideas. I would also look into a Case skip loader with three point. Basically a tractor backhoe without the hoe. You will notice what you are looking for is normally called a MFWD (mechanical front wheel drive). I would try to stay away from hydraulic FWA (front wheel assist). 4X4 refer to tractors that have front and rear tires the same size.

I have a 1997 New Holland(Ford) 3930 M4WD with 8 speed shuttle shift. I mow steep ground and it hasn't let me down yet. It is in your hp range and I feel it is a reliable tractor.

I agree with Frank, a 3930 or 4630 Ford/NH probably could be found for less than 15K. I'VE got A 4630 2wd and it is darn near bullit proof.

Deeres can be affordable. I bought a used 75 hp Deere 2755 mfwd with a loader for 17000 from a dealer. Has served me well for 9 years now. Yes, I've made some repairs over the years but its my everyday tractor.

Thanks for the replies. A 4630 would be a pretty good fit. I have a Ford 3000 (with a 4600 series motor). It has plenty of power, but I need something with a loader, and I want something that isn't as worn out as my 45 year old Ford.
