John Deere A rod bearings

I have a 1946 production "A" tricycle John Deere. Recently I took it down the road and it began knocking when engine was slack. Couldn't hear it when it was pulling. I know my old un-styled B had babbit rods, but I don't know if the A has inserted rod bearings or babbit. Does anyone know for sure which type it is supposed to have?

If it hasn't been changed it will be babbit. The A's didn't come with inserts till the very end of production. You can use late A or 60 rods but you will need to have the crank checked for roundness and possibly turned.

Like Teddy said, check the flywheel. Also check the clutch driver and make sure it is tight too.
