lx565 skidloader

I have a lx565 skidloader that has an hydraulic leak somewhere. When I park it in the shop there will be oil on floor the next day as it leaks out of the underside somehow. I check all of the visible fitting etc but now I need to investigate more. Has anybody had experience with this. Can I get to some of the fittings etc.. without tipping the cab? I don't have the proper tool to tilt the cab. I would need to get somebody that had the tool etc.. to come and look at it. If I take off some panels will I be able to access what I need? Any help would be great.

I had a LX885 that did the same thing. It has a plastic hydraulic oil tank on it. Turned out that's what was leaking. Had to replace the tank. I had to tilt the cab to do it. If you have a extra loader or an overhead hoist it can be done without special tools. Not that bad of a job.

Check if there is a removable belly pan. On my Gehl, there are two bolts at the rear, the front is a lip that slides into place. Opens up the entire bottom for inspection. I have a grease pit in the shop so it"s easy to get underneath- on a flat surface it is very difficult. Running it up on railroad ties or square poles helps. BTW, on my Gehl, tipping is taking out two bolts, and hand tipping to the rear with air assist cylinders. Don"t know about yours- you need a tool to do this?

Look at the big picture first. Is it low on hydraulic oil? If it is, top it up, then watch it again.
On the other hand you should also check the oil in the chain cases. The first place I'd be inclined to look is for cracks in the bottoms of the case at the very rear. Following that... the drain plugs on the front may be worn out. CHECK THEM before it takes out the chains and bearings.

Otherwise you can flip the seat up and look down in the belly for oil. May be a loose suction, return line or something like that. Motor seals ~should~ leak into the chain case...

Look for signs of oil running down from somewhere. Is the hyd. filter tight? If a wheel motor goes it can leak into the chain case and then out the axle seals. BTDT. I'd have to see your machine to know how hard it is to get at. Dave
