Any body else run into things like this happening

My mom told me Sunday that her TV was not working and she had no signal. I didn't get up there yesterday because of her not having mail. So I went up there to today to see what was wrong. So I asked her if she had tried it today and she said no. So she went in and turned it on an it worked just fine. Maybe one of those days I'll figure out why things like to fix them self's when I go and look at them. I have had that happen with many things over my life time.
Guess maybe they see my ugly mug coming and I scare them back into works so they don't have to look at me for long

Thats funny,. One time I pulled my Stihl chain saw over to start it about 50 times wouldent start, which was not usal. Well I took it to my friend at the dealer were I usta work, hes a stihl mechanic. Well I flip the switch on 1 pull the dang thing starts right up. Nothing was wrong with the saw, I guess the kill switch was hung up so it couldent start. Well he said the same thing, sometimes them just seeing me fixes them. LOL

If she's on cable, that happens from time to time. It happens too frequently to me. sometimes, it comes back by itself (signal disruption) or I have to reboot the receiver.

We/She lives so far out that cable doesn't even have a clue how to get to us let alone be even close she has a old antenna system and the new converter box. Just funny how for 2 days it did not work and I come up to fix it and it is working again

Now now Dave I have been arguing to much on another area so you better be careful or I'll find one of my relatives to come over and see you the flip your ears back down. LOL

Get her DirectTV or Dish Network, if she's not completely surrounded by 100' trees like I am. I don't know how it works in the snow, I know it's not worth a flip in the rain.

Bad weather - fog or rain or snow or wind shaking your antennea or whatever between you & the station. Digital is more prone to bad weather or moving antenneas.

A bad connection on your coax cable - little water or wind wiggle a push connection loose somewhere. Little wind wiggled it back to connecting.

Sometimes I hit a wrong button & it's trying to pick up cable or anttenea 2 signals or some such. Perhaps mom had the same problem.

One of those probably covers it.

It's all that junk equipment you keep around messing up reception.........

You know where your family is from? I could be renting from one of your cousins.....

She doesn't want to be paying for TV which right now she isn't. Any more she does not even watch enough TV to even say she does watch it but she does like to watch the price is right and the new and the Wheel but other then that she doesn't watch if

I THINK, you should record some "Rich's cooking tips" and "how to shoot (at) a coon Redneck Style" along with a few videos of you quilting and knitting to keep her entertained......

That's just me though..

my son inlaw asked me to look at his riding mower . i raised the hood and right away saw a belt off . i spun the belt and pulley around by hand to put it back on . the daughter later asked him if i fixed the mower and he said yes he just waved his hand over it and it started working .

Was she trying to use her telephone for a TV remote? My dad walked out of the house one day with the remote thinking it was his cell phone.

But Dave I'm not a red neck never have been never will be. Now if you called me a Hippie that would be a lot closer to it but then that is not 100% true either because few hippies ever joined the service of there own accord. So my you should just say I'm the son of a preacher man and that would in fact be 100% true

I wish I did know where they where from in the old country but I don't just know the names of them and that is it but as I think I told you before there is suppose to still be some relatives in Germany

I have cable, but Dad does not. He says the 'new and improved' digital signal is VERY finicky! One day it will be fine, the next nothing. Seems there is no such thing as 'snow' on the new system. It either works, or it does not. Greg

Neckiness is in the eye of the beholder...... Think it's got something to do with the length of your driveway...... You's a redneck Richard..........

I will have to call my uncle on that one since my dad died a few years back and Marg was his and my uncles last name and Bitten was my dads moms maiden name. And Schutte is my moms maiden name

Ya the is the right way the wrong way and the gov. way. The old system worked just fine for decades but no not good enough any more so we have to fix it and now you spit wrong and you loose signal

Nope can be my hair is way to long for the back of my neck to ever get red or for that matter even tanned. Now them thin places on top that is another story in its self

Yup. We have the same thing. Several times since the digital conversion, we"ve lost signals for varying time periods. Sometimes all stations, sometimes one or two. Has to do with atmospheric conditions bending the radio waves. Radio waves are diffracted by various layers of the atmosphere. Sometimes, as weather conditions change, so do the coverage area of your TV stations, especially if you"re on the fringes. One time, we were out of signals, on our local stations (60 t0 80miles) yet I was able to watch a station out of the next state... Not much you can do, but go without when the band conditions change. Wait till spring, things will get even better, NOT!!!!

When I got cable for my mom a few years back and of course she said I dont need that!! Well after a few months of constant baseball, golf and everything else in the world that was opened up to her,she would mess up the buttons on her remote and lose her channels.Let me tell you what she would call me in a panic and I better get over there and fix it.I would get frustrated sometimes. We lost mom xmas eve 09.I sure do miss those calls.
Stan

Ray You are absolutely right, I used to do TV Work, and in the Spring people would drive You Krazy calling about the Sunspots messin tv"s up.. Oh the good ole days you can receive stations hundreds of miles away, but Yet NOT receive the regular Local ones LOL!! Larry KF4LKU

Dave also if I still have any relatives over there they are distant relatives as in great great grand parents are the ones who came over from Germany so that would have been in the late 1800s so it would;d be decedents of or brothers or sister of them
