Cattle prices,about time

I haven't got the check yet for the load of fat cattle that I took to the sale barn yesterday,but I just checked United Producers website for the local results. I know full well I didn't top the sale,but fat steers topped at 92.50. Heifers topped at 92. That's $4 higher than a week ago. It's about time. I just hope they stay up there for a while. The last few years have been kinda depressing.

Kind of makes it fun again, doesnt it? I'd heard from the yard manager that weigh cows and slaughter bulls would be up so I sent a bull and a few open cows yesterday. Bull brought in the 60's and cows in the 50's with all of them over 1500 pounds. I was well pleased.

small #1 steers were up to $1.60 in Columbus,Tx last thursday...everything else was up a couple cents...now if it would just dry up enuff for me to get trailer back to pen.

heifers here at 94.70 per hundred at sale barn, I paid a dollar lb for some nice nice stockers and do not regret it one bit.

I weaned some Angus calves early off of a set of 1st calf heifers and sold them last Thursday. The steers avg wt was 411 #s and avg price was $1.22
