Tractor Ride FAQ

I think a tractor ride in a organized event would be great, But simply not done here in this part of the world. Perhaps people are to busy, or maybe they are on their tractors to many hours a day without going for a long drive. So...
How would a person go about organizing a Tractor Ride, How long should it be? Who to get involved? Time of year? What roadways to use or avoid? Insurance? Advertising? What can go wrong? Food? Music? Dance? Etc. Etc......
Whats Everybody Think?

start small. A one day ride with a couple hours in the AM - lunch - couple of PM hours.

Need a place where you can unload and leave the trailers. school or church yard maybe

visit "something to see" to break up the ride. like a dairy farm - or a manufacturing shop.

No booze during the ride.

You NEED a chase vehicle - flashing lights, tools, water, gas, piece of wire, tow rope, air tank, etc. Think pick-up or Gator.

A scout needs to run the route several days prior to the ride - how many major highways to cross; construction areas, etc. Then make several maps for the drivers to take.

Set the speed so everybody can keep up, 8 to 10 mph is fast enough - this isn't a race.

You'll have fun.
