Went with my son today to pick up items we need. Found Harbor Freight store. Great stuff. Tools are guaranteed for life. Bought a lot of stuff there. Going back when funds permit. Has any one been dis-satisfied with items there or quality?

Years ago I got a ball joint separator which split on the first use. The quality of their hand tools has gone up in recent years. The majority of their hand tools are made in Taiwan, not China. Don't know how their tools would hold up to every day professional service, but then I've seen most brands of tools broken. I try to buy US made tools for farm and personal use, but have bought HF impact sockets which have held up to my occasional use.

Thanks KFH,
Had to get a few tools,IE new bigger drill press, and a new drill press vise, and a couple of flap disc pads for smoothing out some welding beads. The sanding pads said their MADE IN Russia, maybe with Vodka juice as a glue LOL. Gonna try em and see how they work. The little older drill press we have drilled thru 1" thick steel, way more than what we expected,(drilled new tangs for 706 Hyd Cyl) did a great job, but is getting a little tired, only a 1/8 hp motor with a high speed, took a lot of slow drilling and oil, but made it thru. THanks for the info.

You get what you pay for--at best. I don't care to give HF my business, but it's getting to the point that cheap imported junk is the standard even at the regular stores. All anyone cares about these days is the price.

LOU, My opinion used to be nearly the same as MarkB, but my son goes frequently to a Harbor Freight store not too far from him. I have many thousand dollars of Snap-on, Mac and Craftsman tools purchased over the past 40 plus years and I will tell you the Warranty at HF blows the others excuses out of the water. My son has taken things back and the cheerful HF employee asks "would you like a refund or a new tool ?"

Hope those Russian flap discs hold up. Stopped in there last week and they had the 4 1/2" 3 packs on clearance for $2.50. I bought all they had, about 20 packs. Jeff

I order from them quite a bit because they send what I order USPS and don't whine about UPS being the only shipping method they can use. Got to go to a store when I was in the States last year and bought some goodies to send home.

I have bought alot of stuff there over the years and it is mostly cheap junk from china. I have had alot of items I had to return or exchange right out of the box. Now if you dont use something alot or are prone to losing things it is a cheap place to handle that but all my heavy use tools are craftsman,mac,snap-on and SK.

Me and the wife will be up that way this summer I will check it out see if its any different then ours Thanks Lou.
