Another old truck.

Dident even know my friend had this one. I dident go look at it very good, so I dont know what kind it is. Maybe another mack? Anybody have any ideas. J

I believe it is a White "Compact" from the mid 60's. There were a lot of those trucks running in the big cities as garbage trucks, trash haulers, and municipal service trucks. I don't ever recall them as being popular outside the big urban areas, probably because they were underpowered, and a nasty ride for the driver.

I had a neighbor in the 50's who drove the White C.O. 3000 series as a sausage delivery truck to grocery stores. It was a much nicer looking truck with a rounded front style, but it was unpredictable about the brakes working or not. He would have traded it back for his early 50's cabover Ford any day.

White must have sold their trucks based on a cheap purchase price. They didn't have any real benefits that I was aware of. They had a early reputation as being a tough truck.
