The other night one of the dogs deconstructed my Leupold Rangefinder. Ate the armor, ruined the focus ring, and destroyed the case also.
I sent an email to the Leupold customer Service desk, asking what they could do. Here's the response i got from someone with a sense of humor there.
"Gordon, I think you better get a new dog. There is nothing that we would be able to do to repair this unit. Sorry about your misfortune".

Item for Reader's Digest or Field and Stream?

I always enjoy a little leivity in business deals, makes the whole transaction more casual.

Last year I went to San Diego on a business trip and decided to stay on the Queen Mary, as the grand old ship has been converted to a floating hotel. I was making my resrvation and, to be sure I got a good room, I asked does my cabin come with a port hole? The young man on the phone said, yes sir in fact your room has the largest port hole on the ship. I said "Really?!" and he said, no, not really, they're all the same size. We had a good laugh and I was already feeling great about the trip before I ever got there.

If you ever get the chance to stay there you should it, the old ship is full of history.
 
I thought Leupold had a "no questions asked, lifetime guarantee" even if you"re not the original purchaser.
 
Gotta appreciate a response with a little humor in it, instead of a cut & dry nope, you're SOL response. You still got the SOL part, but in a little better form. Sometimes you just have to laugh.
