806 lights go dim

have a 806 the lights work on the first setting and when its turned all the way to havethe field lights on they dim way down could it be in the switch any info is greatly appreciated thanks ps the alternator is charging fine

Dim often means a bad ground.

A short to ground in one light or circuit will act like that. Disconnect lamps one at a time till the others stay bright, then fix it. Warm wires are where the short is!! JimN

My money is on a bad switch.

Those switches have marginal current carrying capacity for the 5 lights. Have seen more than one with a corroded battery terminal. Dust, dirt, and moisture accumulates between the bat terminal and the switch housing, a small leakage current flows, corrosion sets in, and the connection goes bad. Can also drain the battery over an extended period.

Had the same thing on my 706 about 5 years ago. It was the switch.
