Chevrolet destory Allis Chalmers tractor in commercial

Don't know who was watching the olympics at about 9:15 central, but good old GM ran a Chevy commercial. They show a bright and shiney red pickup barrel roll a restorable Allis Chalmers tractor.
We all know how valuable that cultivators are getting now. Well, it looks like it had a rear mounted cultivator on it too.
I am getting my email ready for their marketing dept.

Maybe AGCO should have a commercial with a Massey tractor flipping a 1950s era corvette.

more b/s from external_link motor co. kind of makes you want to take a large excavator, with a hydraulic claw, and grab that forgine made chevy right about in the middle and squeeze , i wonder what our 235 cat could do with that, [claw has 30,000psi closing pressure plus what the bucket can counter with]

I saw it and couldn"t believe it! When I went out the next morning, I kicked "Tucker," my Silverado a few times and told him to never let a thought like that enter his "head!"

How else would you put the tractor back on its feet? I rolled a tractor over years ago and we used a JD 70 to right it ,Must be that made it better?

Do you think it was GM trying to tell John Deere not to let a car guy get involved with "redesigning" a perfectly good farm tractor? Probably not as that would have a plot and I don't think GM has anyone working there anymore who can think that deeply. Let me re-phrase that. "I doubt that GM has anyone working there anymore who can think. Period.".

Saw that commercial last weekend. Chapped me off. Perhaps we should start calling Chevy and complaining.

I was going to make a post about it, buy you beat me to it. Glad you did.

Call GM/Chevrolet at 1-800-222-1020 and politely tell them that destroying that old Allis was a really dumb thing to show in a commercial. I called and your concern does get noted in write-up by the person taking the call. To assure that it gets documented, ask them for a case number before you hang up.

I've seen that commercial a couple of times now on Ag Day. Looks like an Allis Chalmers C. It apears to me the tractor is on it's side and the pickup is rolling it upright.

Don't bother, these people obviously are not too smart. I have never seen such a ridiculous thread in my life. It's just a commercial, get a life.

It was a commercial about cleaning up an abandoned lot and making a community ball field. The tractor was already destroyed.

If the chevy did tear the tractor up you can't save them all. There will be far more tractors in 15 or 20 years than there are people who want them. Go to an auction and most everyone buying antique tractors are the older folks. They will all be up for sale again in another 15 or 20 years.

Right-on Maybe if half of these old tractors were melted down the rest of them would have enough value that you could restore one and still be able to resell it if you wanted to without losing your shirt.

Ag Day comes on RFD,I think that's channel 231 on Dish. It's on at 8am eastern. You have to be watching close. You only see the tractor flip up out of the weeds in about a second while it's flashing through several different scenes. Supposed to be clearing a lot for a baseball field or some such thing, near as I can figure.
