I want more pictures! I have been hearing about your operation for years now I finally get to see it! Looks like similar to some of the rolling hills here in PA. I have to carry the round bales on the back though to get through the spring mud....
Did I hear your Dad passed away? More land to farm or is the farm going up for sale?

You know I normally enjoy winter. I like it much more than Summer when it is 110. But...this winter will not sadden me by just going away. While we havent had the snow most have, it has just been completely miserable and cold and I am nearly out of hay, wheat pasture is eaten up/frozen out....just GO AWAY till next year. I will prepare better next round. Got spoiled by a few milder winters I guess.

Now that I've finally decided to go to the modern view, at least on occassion, I figured out that photo uploading was a lot easier, lol. I'll try to get some more up more regular. I've got a thread over on another board about the 'snow deere'. Right now Im having to haul hay back on a wagon with the dozer and then feed with the tractor. One on the front for 'dynamic braking' going down, drop it off in the hay rings, keep the one on the back to get back up the hill to get the next one....

Dad did pass away in December, sudden. His main farm, 7 miles from mine we're keeping. Its just my mom and then just me so nothing has to be sold. I'm going to move move some things around, not feeding two bunches of cows another winter if I can help it. Just trying to make things more efficient.

You're good :)... and close.... Its a 7610, series II, B prefix serial number, but its a Canadian transplant with the digital dash, electronics, injection pump, and a few other things like a 7740. Every time I go to my NH dealer he asks me 'which 7610' and grits his teeth, lol. I've got another one thats a regular C series serial number and 'normal'.

When you have to work on it you'll sure wish it was a 7710....
That thing right there, though it's a nice tractor... will cause you to utter new words from the very minute you set about doing any maintenace or repair work on it.

Did you say here some time ago you were in the Hopkinsville area? Went through there two weeks ago on the way to Ft. Benning. Ice storm around Nashville. Had no snow, some open water, fields, looked wet. Also noticed no fall tillage of the few corn fields I saw. Sure different from our winters!

Wasn't me, I'm about 3 hours northeast of Hopkinsville, between Lexington and Louisville. Fall tillage is a rarity anywhere in the state, especially since the tobacco buyout. I think NRCS and Extension finally beat the idea down, even though if I'm doing tillage, I want to do it in the fall. Hope you had a good trip!! Nashville in an ice storm couldn't have been fun.
