hydraulics on 444 international

Hi , my family purchased a used 444 international with a loader on it. The hydraulics sound terrible on it. I have looked countless times for the fill hole to check the fluid. I have also had several who were familiar with International tractors look and we can’t find a dipstick or a fill hole. Now the bucket will not work at all. Can you steer me to some info on the info I need to check the fill level and where it and the fill is? Thanks Judy

The hydraulic fill/check plug is behind the seat in the right rear corner of the casting that the seat is mounted on. Fill to the bottom of the filler plug opening. Make sure loader is down when checking. Capacity should be three gallons. The drain is is located on the back side of the same housing just below the fill opening.

If the tractor has been fitted with a crankshaft driven front pump then there will be two hydraulic lines under the seat and the transmission serves as the hydraulic reservoir.

Thanks Owen, I think that it must have the crankshaft driven pump. It has a pump mounted in the front of the tractor, that is driven by a shaft. We'll see if we can figure it out now. judy

Ahh is yours a 2444? Does it have a foot pedal?
Does it have a big line from the loader valve going back to the lift box behind the seat, right side if I recall? Also does it have a small round filter housing in front of the gearshift?
You may have a 2444, which is the industrial 444.

If so you are likely using the tranny sump for your loader and aux pump. The tranny check level is on the right of the gearshift. remove the plug and fill till 6 inches below fill opening.
