way o/t farmer with hemochromatosis

Sister was diagnosed 4 weeks ago, she is 65. I went for tests and my iron (30-130) is 1293, I am 59 and have it also. Not sure about things now as I also am working on bladder cancer which is regressing but not gone. Got no energy and get up and go. Anyone out there for good moral support??? I go thursday the 18th for a bladder scope for the cancer.

Don, All I can do is pray for you and your sister. If you are a christian, you have the great physician. He can heal you or help you make the right choices. Praying for Don and sister in Canada. Dave
 
good luck. Mom is flying down to Houston tomorrow to check on whether her breast cancer is still gone. It is a rare form and killed her sister 12 years ago. Those problems are scary for everyone. once again good luck to you and your family
 
just buried My Neighbor (Fine welder and mechanic ).not sure what the medical term was , But his symptoms seem to match perfectly . His liver became the main target In the end ,, He fought it Bravely for 25yrs ..quite a sportsman ,just only 80 yrs old ...
 
Hey, hang in there. My father was diagnosed with hemachromatosis when I was in high school -- probably about 1963. At the time, the treatment was for him to donate a pint of blood a week to lower the iron count. After 28 straight weeks, he got a bit tired and the doc put him on an every-other week schedule. I don't remember the resolution of this illness, but he passed on 22 years later of a different cause. And keep the prayers going, can only be a benefit.

I know a family member and a close friend had it 4 yrs ago,both are still going today and living life.You will lick this!But I will send in a prayer to help out.Keep your mind on old equipment.
