OT: Another Snow Report

I just received an e-mail from my sis in Coeur d' Alene,Idaho. She said that they had 120" of snow last year, but only 10" so far this year. My bil's mother lives in Rusk Co. in E. TX and she said that she has had 8" to 12" inches this past week. Hawaii is the only state without snow at the moment. They usually have skiing this time of year. We had crazy weather patterns last summer; hot and dry in the Gulf Coast region, wet & cool in the northern part of the country. I was in Denver in July and it was the greenest I've ever seen it. It all fits into A. Gore's predictions, but I think it's just Mother Nature doing her thing. I remember of reading about snow in July in the northeast, I think, in colonial times. The weather channels say colder than normal through next week. The sun is shining today, but supposed to cloud up tomorrow as another front moves in. We normally see signs of spring in this area before now. I'm ready.

Hi, Where are you located? Everybody is beginning to get tired of the winter weather. We are on the east coast of Canada, having a normal cold winter. We usually go a few day's and get some rain, mostly just cold here for the past three weeks. Cheers, Murray

I'm just north of Houston. We almost never have snow here. We had a light dusting in December. Houston and further south had an inch or so. We have had mild winters the last several years, but this one has been colder than normal. We have had a lot of rain though not as much as right along the Gulf Coast, or to the north. We have gone several winters without a hard freeze. In early January, we had 40 hours below 30*; two days later, it got up to 78* one day. Our cold weather here is a heat wave to you folks up north, but it's very unusual here. We are just not used to it.

WE have very little snow here in central Maine... send us all your unwanted snow! The state has 14 thousand miles of snowmobile trails and all are becoming worn. It has been a mild winter so far... only a couple of days below zero and only about -3 at that. Last winter it was 37 below. I don't miss the cold but I would like to see some fresh snow. Nothing significant here since early January.
