Another snow storm to hit from DC to Boston on Tuesday through Wednesday. Could get another foot. Hal

More rain, rain, rain, rain, for us.

Started in Oct. (22 inches) and hasn't stopped. We've had rain almost every week since Oct and sometimes every 3-4 days.

When we got to the farm Friday evening, I checked the rain gauge and it had 1.75 inches in it. Water standing in every low spot. Everywhere you walk, ground goes "squish".

More rain today, rain/sleet/snow predicted for Thurs and more Sun/Mon.

Nancy; Are you anywhere near where they grow the onion plants for shipping around the country? I wonder how they are doing if it is so wet.

Hal,
Supposed to hit us in CT this time. Can you steer it away from us like the last one?

Vito

I use to plant those onion plants. I planted
red, white and yellow. It's hard to believe we ate all those onions. Had 4 long rows of Kennebec potatoes and one row of Red Bliss or Norland's. I didn't have a root cellar so I used an old upright freezer layed on its back for storing those spuds. I can't believe we ate all those spuds. It got pretty cold here, but those spuds never froze. Hal
PS: I took a lot of onions & potatoes to work one day and another co-worker brought in fish and we baked onions, fish and potatoes. We used Old Bay seasoning on all of it. Sure was good.

We are sort of getting it right now. But I can/will say this is the type of snow I like. It falls and melts as soon as it hits the ground. Weather guessers said 3-6 inches but so far we have not had much if any stick and where it is sticking is where there is already snow. Been right at 35 degrees all day but boy the mud that is a different story in ts self

Hey Vito did you live up in CT back in 75 or 76. I remember back one of those years CT got a heavy snow fall and shut down the whole area. Back then they said the only car/trucks that where allowed on the road where people out helping others out. Navy base was closed down so me an a few friends jumped in my van and took off the help people dig out

We just recieved another 12 inches of new white sunshine here in Iowa last night and today, most likely the storm that is heading your way. Tired of the NEW records we are setting this winter. I can hardly wait for the flooding to come in the next month or so. Oh well, guess we will take whatever mother nature sends us. Good Luck all.

Our local NBC station out of Baltimore says we will get from 12 to 20 inches. Glad I have the blower to blow it up on the lawn. Hal

Old, the big one here in CT was in 78 a few years before my time. My parents recall they had 3 feet of snow and driffts up to 10 plus feet and winds of 50mph.

I got one pic posted in stuck and troubled. The snow has compacted big time around here. Might only get rain for the first half of the next storm. Got the big blade reversed on the 2-105 and that thing can relly push snow.

Rich,
During those years I lived in Norfolk,CT in the northwest corner of the state. We moved in August of 1978 to Agawam,MA. which is about 30 miles north of Hartford. To be honest with you all the big storms melt together as the years go on.

Vito

More Snow? I've never seen this much snow in Maryland in the past 30 years. 20 inches 19 Dec, 30 inches Saturday, 6 inches Wednesdat, inches the week before... Where is that Al Gore guy, I want to talk to him about that global warming horse hockey

May have been 78 shoot that was to long ago to remember for sure. I know that was the year that I lived in New London and I had parked my 1974 dodge van it had 3 foot antennas on the roof but any how the next morning I went out to go to the base and no van. Where I had to park it was between 2 hills and the snow was so deep you could walk across on what seemed to be level ground because of how deep the snow was. Took me and 2 or 3 friends a couple hours to dig the van out and all but we did. I could go into it but that would really be long

Nice pictures. Looks like you were hit hard too. I see your dogs are enjoying it. I like that JD tractor. Hal

The mail hasn't been by since last Friday. No since in being in a hurry to do the mailbox. I dug it out this morning. No guarantee she will make it today. None of those trucks have 4 wheel drive and no chains are used. Hal

Wayne: Where are you in Davidsonville? I'm way up north in southern Gambrills, off of 424. We had drifts to 7'deep, at the top of the hill.
