OT-Daughter in Band of Brothers

We recently returned from our daughter"s graduation from Jump School at Ft. Benning, GA. She was one of 420 new paratroopers. Six of us Dads were ex-paratroopers and were called out at the ceremony to pin the wings on our Soldiers. Life doesn"t get any better than that! Jen placed 1st in her AIT Psychological Warfare training at the JFK Special Warfare Center at Ft. Bragg, NC and has returned there for her choice of language school- Arabic. As a female she is not allowed in Special Forces or Civil Affairs, but PsyOps requires airborne status because they often get attached to SF teams. Basic and AIT have lighter PT standards for females, but airborne cuts them no slack. Besides Dad, she joins two cousins and an uncle in airborne.

My congratulations and best wishs go out to all your family. I am confidant Jen will inspire others now and in years ahead.

Well I'll tell ya seems though it would take a lot of big burly nasty lookin soldiers to convince me to jump out of a perfectly good airplane and a lot of claw marks on the clouds on the way down if they id in fact convince me .

In the other hand I salute her and thank her and you for your services .

This comes from a "LEG" Us Army from the Viet Nam theater 226th S&S

The second pic is missing the caption- it is her PsyOps unit from Bragg on a June 6 -09 jump, showing scene from typical 1250 foot jump. She was one of a handful of females in the class, one in the ceremony was third generation- her grandfather with combat jumps at Normandy and others in WWII, father was from the 70s, believe he was CO of this training company. Appreciate your thanks- like many from the mid-60s, took thirty years for the first one. I don"t let today"s troops wait. No matter the politics, they deserve it now.

Cant imagine how proud you must be.I know I was when I got my wings,82nd 72-74.Only time I would of been prouder is if I would of pinned wings on one of my sons chest, but they chose other paths. There still good boys, but that would of been something.
Tell your daughter Im very proud of her and Good Luck.

AIRBORNE!!!!
