This pic is of a Tri axle truck load, and a 1/2 load of logs. About 7.5 cords to a load. The other half was stacked on the other side, and is now split and stacked. So I got about 14-16 cords of wood, from 2 loads. + -.

Hi, just one question. What do you pay for your wood in full lengths ? I paid $270.00 for three cords last spring in 8' lengths. East coast of Canada. Cheers, Murray ///Note: advertised in paper at $240.00 per cord split ready for stove.

Wish I had that pile right now. What do you use to split it and what length chunk can your stove or furnace take?
When the weather gets decent I have to get into the woods and get it.
My wife thinks I only burn wood to have something for the tractors in the winter besides plowing snow.

(quoted from post at 19:52:09 02/06/10) $650 a truck load, 6-8 cords on a truck.

Huh, for what ever reason I thought it might be a bit less then that.

Last year I needed an extra cord so I bought a cord plus a little (my pulp cart is a little over 9' long, hold 4' logs 4 ' high) for $100 bucks. I did have to pick it up but it didn't take all that long, it was in 8' but I cut it down to 4' to fit the cart.

A few years ago we got a load of firewood tree length, boy that was a bugger. I don't mind dealing with it when it's in the woods but when it's staked up like that, no thanks.

Good luck though, I know all about putting up firewood!

Yea, it was $325 7 years ago! I just knock the pile dowm with my loader, or pull logs off with a chain hooked to the loader.

Jay will that heat your house for the winter.

$650 for wood for the winter, plus the work of splitting and feeding the stove.

I heat my house with geothermal for $250 for the whole winter and never do anything but set the thermostat.

Darn glad I have a pellet stove now much easier on the old back and its thermostat controlled. An cost a lot less to operate than wood.

A pile of firewood in the yard is a wonderful thing to see if you are a woods man. right up there with a pretty woman.Ive been cutting wood for 60 years, still like to see a full wood shed.
