Brought home <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EM7n1ANxcAk">"52"</a> our JD 52A last Sunday afternoon from the mechanic's shop.

Back on July 4th <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kJNe6cd183k">started cutting</a> the Bahia grass in a field we call "the corner".

1st gear was too slow and 3rd gear was too fast; 2nd gear decided to lock up.

Pulled "52" out of the field with "15" our 53 model 70 gas tractor.

Tractor sat along the fence row until January.

Mechanice replaced a bearing that was worn; now "52" has its full range of gears 1-6.

Probably will pull the hay tedder with "52".

So glad to get the tractor back in service decided to take a <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cc2JmA0L0i8">short tractor tour</a>.

My ole 'puter takes entirely too much time to "buffer" a video, so want to make sure its worth watching- so tell me, do we hit a tree on this one? Because that would be worth the wait. . .

You're right, it ain't fair, but you'll just never live it down.

Have not hit a tree with "52", but there"s always that possibility.

Did purchase a pair of light bars for a model 70 on eBay.

Caught a small oak tree while mowing with "Vernon" and broke the left light bar.

Caught a pine limb with the 350 sickle mower.

Mower was in "transport" position when it snagged a limb on a pine tree.

Too embarrassed to post when it happened, but its time to "fess up" and take the grief.

<a href="http://s200.photobucket.com/albums/aa5/jameslloydhowell/John%20Deere%20Equipment/350%20Mower/?action=view¤t=IMG_1637.jpg" target="_blank">

Limbs have been removed; traumatic experience filed away in short term memory for future reference.

The 350 sickle mower is another Winter project waiting its turn.

There are two kinds of mower drivers, those who have hit a snag and those who are going to.

I'm beginning to believe what the "ground hog" folks are predicting.

Looks like it might stretch from 2 months to 6 more weeks of winter.

Still have at least 3 more tractors to work on.

Thankfully the skunks at the farm are only active at night.

Think they come get a drink of water from the faucet near the bedroom window.

Lord help us all if I'm out on a tractor at night.

Must have been a mite chilly. I see "52" has his stocking cap on. Or was that so he wouldnt catch a nasty cold riding the trailer. ;o)

Ya,well I was mowing irrigated alfalfa and cut into some skunks loafing where they should not have been. Sorta stunk up the area for awhile.

Old work sock over the air intake to keep out the dirt daubers and wasps.
